Reissue of Benny The Butcher and 38 Spesh's seminal joint album, Stabbed & Shot. Includes previously unreleased instrumentals!
In 2019 rapper/producer 38 Spesh put together a compilation album to celebrate the 25th anniversary of a seminal year in Hip-Hop, 1994. It features the biggest names in the underground like Benny The Butcher, Conway, Rome Streetz, Eto, Flee Lord, Elcamino, Che Noir, Hus Kingpin, Daniel Son, and many more. They all rap over popular beats from 1994, which are actually all remakes by Spesh. Then in late 2020 Spesh followed up his well-received comp with a sequel titled 1995 (of course). However, with this instalment of the series, Spesh decided he would make it a solo mixtape on which he raps on classics from 1995. To make it official, he had the project presented and mixed by his longtime affiliate DJ Green Lantern.
38 Spesh had a big 2018 having dropped albums with Kool G Rap and Benny The Butcher. He had an even bigger 2019 with projects with Flee Lord and Big Ghost Ltd., as well as two solo releases. But 2020 was the year he became a household name, and 2021 will be even more serious with major releases on the way. Basically, he’s keeping his foot on the competition’s necks 24/7/365. In the past year he has produced full albums for Flee Lord (Loyalty + Trust II), Planet Asia (Trust The Chain), Elcamino (Martyrs Prayer), Che Noir (Juno), Rasheed Chappell (Ways & Means), and Black Geez (Concrete Struggle 2), and introduced his Army of Trust compilation series. However, what fans haven’t got in a while is a Spesh solo album. To satisfy this demand The King of Upstate is giving heads a sequel to his 5 Shots EP, which is appropriately titled 6 Shots: Overkill. Like it’s predecessor, this offering is produced entirely by Spesh. The lead single from 6 Shots is also a sequel as Eto and 38 reunite for “Flour City 2.” Spesh employs a dramatic loop on the song that is ideal for these two Rochester kingpins to black out.
Although the i-38 is a fictional highway, it represents the road Spesh has taken to get where he is today. His hustle and grind are well known among his peers. The trafficking themed song titles on this album (“The Mule,” “Toll Booth,” “Road Back,” “Made It Home,” etc.) tease the kind of weight-moving bars to be found within. Guests on the album include Spesh's TCF Music Group labelmates Ransom and Che Noir, as well as regular collaborators Benny The Butcher, Elcamino, and Klass Murda. Further, contributions from notable producers such as Buckwild, The Heatmakerz, and STREETRUNNER make this album an all-star affair.
Having produced full albums for numerous buzzing names in the last couple of years, 38 Spesh has become recognized as one of the most prolific beatmakers in the new era of hardcore Hip-Hop. So, to mark this achievement, he has decided to start giving fans the instrumentals to their favorite songs with a new series titled Speshal Blends. The first volume of the series includes beats off of Che Noir's Thrill of the Hunt II, Flee Lord x 38 Spesh's Loyalty + Trust, 38 Spesh's 5 Shots EP, and more. The title of the series is a homage to MF DOOM’s classic instrumental collection, Special Blends. The album art also references DOOM’s series, but instead of playing on the Zig-Zag motif, the Speshal Blends covers riff off the logos of popular cigar brands most commonly used for blunts.

Condition: NEW (BEND CORNER)
On the heels of Spesh’s Interstate 38 album, Benny’s The Plugs I Met 2, and their joint drop of Trust The Sopranos, 38 Spesh is giving fans what they’ve been demanding, a new single with his day-one Benny The Butcher, Stash Box. Spesh handles production duties here and utilizes a sped-up vocal sample that gives the track an early 2000s vibe that is reminiscent of classic joints by Kanye and Dipset. Both emcees wax nostalgic about their come-ups and assert that they're still in the streets to this day. On the B-side of this 12" single is a non-album exclusive titled “Better Music”. This cut is only available on vinyl and cannot be found on digital or streaming sites. Benny and Spesh continue their historic run with this limited 12”. Upstate NY continues to impress.
Most fans of hardcore Hip-Hop know and love Benny The Butcher and 38 Spesh's 2018 joint album Stabbed & Shot, yet many aren't aware that before that there was Cocaine Cowboys. The duo dropped this potent joint mixtape back in 2008. They split the project into two parts and added a couple hard-to-find bonus cuts for the vinyl release. Plus, new alternate art by the one and only Manuel "Cep" Concepcion only available on this second edition re-release. Cocaine Cowboys 2 features a number of weight moving anthems like "Cocaine Wishes," "American Dopeboy, and Spesh and Benny's earliest collab with Conway The Machine, "Trapping." This is a must-have for TCF Music Group, Griselda Records, and BSF Records collectors.
